Abstract Aims Online resources are a fundamental source of healthcare information due to the increasing popularity Internet, therefore ensuring accuracy and reliability websites is crucial improving patient education enhancing outcomes. Inguinal hernia repair most commonly performed general surgical procedure worldwide. This study aims analyse quality online on inguinal using modified Ensuring Quality Information for Patents (EQIP) tool. Method A systematic review was conducted 4 search terms: “inguinal hernia”, “groin repair” “inguinoscrotal hernia”. The top 100 each term identified Google were assessed EQIP tool (score 0-36). Websites paediatric population or intended medical professional use excluded from analysis. Results 142 eligible 52.8% originated UK. median score all 17/36 (IQR 14-21). scores Content, Identification Structure 8/18, 2/8, 8/12, respectively. Complications included in 46.5% websites, with 9.2% providing complication rates 14.1% how complications handled. Conclusions highlights that current poor, minimal available complications, hindering patients’ ability make informed decisions regarding their healthcare. To improve education, there an immediate need improved meet international standards.
